TelescopeGuides is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains how that works and why it never changes the advice we give.
How affiliate links work
Some of the links on TelescopeGuides are "affiliate links." If you click one and buy a product, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or not — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
Programs we participate in
- Amazon Associates. TelescopeGuides is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Other retailer and brand programs. We may also link to telescope retailers, optics manufacturers, and gear marketplaces through their own affiliate or referral programs.
Our commitment to honest recommendations
- We recommend gear based on aperture, mount stability, optical quality, value, and who the product is genuinely best for — not based on which link pays the most.
- We flag trade-offs (portability, astrophotography limits, setup difficulty) even on products we link to.
- A commission never buys a better review. If a product is a poor fit, we say so.
